Low-Cost Second Editions for
Loyal Customers
Independent publisher raises the bar
for technical book publishers
New York, NY – 9/3/08 - “Book buyers deserve an opportunity to upgrade their books at a favorable price when publishers release new editions,” says Gary Chefetz, CEO of MSProjectExperts, a New York-based publishing and consultancy company specializing in Portfolio and Enterprise Project Management. “Our product lifecycle plan includes a second edition for each of our core titles with an approximate 20% content change,” continues Chefetz. “It doesn’t seem right to ask loyal customers to double-pay for an incremental change; that’s why we started this program.”
Managing Enterprise Projects using Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 Second Edition is the latest release eligible for the MSProjectExperts upgrade program.
MSProjectExperts publishes six titles covering the Microsoft 2007 Enterprise Project Management (EPM) platform, which encompasses Project Server, Portfolio Server, SharePoint, SQL Server and Windows Server technologies.
“During a three-to-four-year product cycle, Microsoft releases many incremental changes to its software, including many functional differences. Because our titles support training programs that we and our partners offer, we’re committed to capturing these changes in our core titles by publishing second editions,” commented Chefetz.
"We’ve already taken an innovative approach in combining the depth of a technical reference with a training manual format that includes hands-on exercises and downloads that support our vision that books are learning tools,” Chefetz said. “For the software reference-book consumer, a second edition means staying on top of mid-cycle product changes. Our commitment to second editions and our book upgrade program support our loyal customers. As far as I know, these are industry firsts.”
First Edition owners can request their upgrade copy on the company’s website at Upgrade Your Book or by contacting the company at MSProjectExperts, 90 John Street, Suite 404, New York, NY 10038.
