TimeAway™
Solution Overview
TimeAway™ is a Project Server add-on that allows resources to self-manage their
EPM working calendars. With optional manager approval workflow enabled, TimeAway™
fills an enormous functionality gap in Project Server enabling better resource
and schedule management in your EPM system.
Why TimeAway™?
Project Server 2003 allows users to send managers non-project time requests through
Project Web Access. The system records these into Project Server's Admin projects
causing resource over-allocation if they're booked for project work during the same
period. It's up to your project managers to both detect the over-allocations and
resolve the scheduling conflicts. TimeAway™ instead articulates resource away time
to individual resource calendars where these exceptions automatically cause schedule
shifts proactively alerting project managers to scheduling impossibilities.

- Requires WinProj.EXE installation and license for the server
- Reporting driven by Microsoft SQL Reporting Services which requires no additional
licensing if installed on a licensed SQL Server
